Ward Kenneth Darron Jr. was a lifelong resident of Rush, NY serving as the town's unofficial photographer from his youth in the late 1940's until his death. He was the first valedictorian of the Rush Henrietta Central School district in 1948. As a young man he farmed and attended college, graduating from RIT with a BA of Engineering in 1951 while employed by Consolidated Vacuum in Rochester. Ken, as he was known to his friends, went to work for Eastman Kodak Company in 1961 as a Mechanical Engineer. He continued farming until 1969. That year he also completed his BS degree in Engineering from RIT and went on to design and build many industrial machines for the manufacture and distribution of Kodak photographic paper. Ken was a lifelong member of the Rush United Methodist church where he sang in the choir for years. He was also an avid member of the Boy Scouts of America, serving as Committee Chairman of Troop 334. He was awarded the Silver Beaver, Scouting’s highest honor for adult leaders. Ken died in 2009 at age 79.
